The Ministry of the Forerunner

The Ministry (the Spirit) of the Forerunner
Luke 1:13-17; Matthew 11:12-14 (Malachi 3:1 & 4:5,6)
To be alive in the generation that experienced the transition of a millennium is a unique privilege. There are only a few people that get to see this and even fewer who understand it. 2 Peter 3:8 says that a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day in the Lord. This means that we who are alive at this time experienced the dawning of a new day at the change of the millennium. In fact, we experienced the beginning of the third day since Christ and we know that according to biblical history that YHWH always moves on the third day.

Don't Let Anything Break Your Fellowship

Job chapters 1 & 2 documents some of the most horrific experiences ever endured by a human being, period. None of us are able to imagine what it must have felt like to endure multiple tragedies within a 24 hour period as Job did. Yet, we must recognize that a few peculiar things about that story that should be overwhelmingly encouraging to us today.
The first is the proper understanding and interpretation of the negative that happens in our lives from time to time. Job was not the object of G-d's humor.

"Rachel Don't Die!"

On this past Saturday the Holy Spirit gave a word of refreshing to the worshippers at The Worship Center - NYC. "Rachel Don't Die!" Using Genesis 30:1 & 35:16-20, we were encouraged to press through the pain a difficulty of childbirth to bring forth that which has been conceived in our inward being. Rachel was caught in a comparison trap when she saw Leah birthing children while she remained barren. This is were many in the church find themselves today. Looking at other churches, ministries, and ministers and making unhealthy comparisons to their own path and progress.

Great Faith!

I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in all Israel...Luke 7:1-10 (vs. 9)
In this most intriguing story about the healing of the centurion's servant there are so many nuggets that can be extracted to add value to our faith walk. For example, the faith story is not about a Jew's belief but a Gentile. This Gentile leverages his relationship with the Jews to get access to Jesus. The testimony of his goodwill towards Israel is used to convince Jesus that he is worthy of the Lord's intervention.

Does it still excite you?

"I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go into the house of the Lord.'" Psalm 122:1
The tradition of going to church on Sunday morning for many has lost it's value. More times than not the experience is approached with very little sincere preparation. Coming from a Christian home, there was never a time when I did not go to church from as far back as I can remember. My oldest memories always included a time of conscious preparation that always took place on Saturday evening.
