On this past Saturday the Holy Spirit gave a word of refreshing to the worshippers at The Worship Center - NYC. "Rachel Don't Die!" Using Genesis 30:1 & 35:16-20, we were encouraged to press through the pain a difficulty of childbirth to bring forth that which has been conceived in our inward being. Rachel was caught in a comparison trap when she saw Leah birthing children while she remained barren. This is were many in the church find themselves today. Looking at other churches, ministries, and ministers and making unhealthy comparisons to their own path and progress. This practice will more times than not cause you to move into some unhealthy habit or use an ungodly system to inappropriately manipulate conception. Artificial insemination may be a scientifically and culturally accepted alternative but it usurps the will of G-d.
When Rachel brings for her second son she is between Bethel and Ephrath, but only a short distance from Ephrath. Bethel is interpreted the house of G-d and Ephrath is know as the fruitful land. Notice they had left the comfort, convenience and familiarity of the house of G-d to venture towards a new and exciting "fruitful land" and while making that transition G-d decides to birth something in Rachel.
This is where many of us find ourselves today. We are pressing towards new territory and new plateaus while at the same time carrying the weight of new vision on the inside. Just when we think we are about to walk into our fruitful land we are traumatized with hard labor.
That's when we have to receive the midwives declaration, "don't fear" or don't die you have a son (a legacy) about to come out of you.
I don't know who you are or what you may be up against right now! What I am sure of is that you are just a short distance from your place of fruitfulness and you can't die now!
So I proclaim to you right now, "RACHEL DON'T DIE!
Hold on just a little while longer...your blessing is a short distance away!!!
